GLASSCON PV Photovoltaic louvers/shades is a fixed or controllable external glazed solar shading system that may be installed either vertically or horizontally in front of the façade. Photovoltaic cells are integrated into the glass so as to generate electricity. It may be combined with other GLASSCON products such as roof lights and glazed facades. A GLASSCON PV Photocoltaic shading system can reduce solar heat gain, lower air conditioning running costs, and lessen glare whilst maximising the use of natural daylight. GLASSCON can create any number of designs to suit the requirements of any project Like all of the GLASSCON moving/tilting/motorized solar shading systems, GLASSCON PV Photovoltaic louvers/shades  is operated by linear actuators that can be housed within a simple box mullion meaning they are not only discreet, but quick and easy to install. The aluminum and glass louvers are available in various colours, surface finishes and coatings to meet specific design requirements. GLASSCON PV Photovoltaic louvers/shades - Construction Specifications The principal support and control components are manufactured from aluminium and stainless steel. Aluminium extrusions are to BS 1474 Grade 6063 T6. The glass panels are heat soak tested toughened glass with the edges treated to remove stress. Glass thicknesses of between10mm and 24mm max are available. The glass specification will be tailored to suit each application, taking full account the project 's aesthetic and performance requirements.
